Three days walking with a pal last week (a fellow human, that is, not just the camera!) Great Langdale first, Pike of Blisco from Blea Tarn. All K70 + Sigma 17-70 (the lightest combination I have, I think.) All comments welcomed, as usual. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them!

Thanks for all your comments, folks - much appreciated.

Steve - "manual or autofocus?" - a bit of both! I found the focus ring quite difficult to manage as it seems loose and hard to use accurately - but that could just be me not used to it. Autofocus (single point) wasn't always better hand-held as it didn't always focus on the point I wanted it to - but again that could be me not used to it as well as not using the tripod. The weather since has been pretty breezy, so outdoor macro has been off the menu really. It would be interesting to hear what experiences others have had regarding manual/auto focus. I guess that would have to be in a different area of the Forum, though.

During mixed weather last week, so a few outdoor in the sun, a few more in the snow and a few indoors. First impressions? Very sharp but not always easy to focus or to judge depth of field. Probably best used on a tripod rather than hand-held. Image quality and bokeh potentially superb! A few on K3, then switched to K70 to get the benefit of the moveable screen. A minimum of processing applied. All comments welcome!

Thank you, Paul - that's a very generous thing to say.

Thank you all for your comments. I think these are my favourites of the four sets - simply because I’m not sure you get light like in no. 3 to 6 anywhere but on the coast - pure luck, of course, that I happened to be in the right spot at the right time!

Could be a "love it" or "so what?" kind of topic to round off - tides and sand create all kinds of textures and patterns and these are ones that caught my eye.

Seahouses is where we were based. The day before we left there was bad weather forecast, so it was out early or not at all! Misjudged how quickly the weather would change, so the WR factor got tested a little! Thought about mono versions of these, but decided what little colour there was as the light failed would help give a better feel for the conditions. All thoughts welcome.
