I've always felt that "garden" images don't always have to show flowers in full bloom - and these both reinforce that feeling. That said, the second is outstandingly captured/focussed.

Lovely mix of close-up detail and broader views. And, as Steve says, "how very English!"

Lots to catch the eye away from sea and cliffs, too.

From a recent trip to Portugal - first holiday for a long time! Morning walks along the Algarve coast with barely a cloud to be seen and the sun already making the sea glisten. All with K1 + FA 28-105

Thank you for your comments, all - I never for one moment read any as criticism of the photography rather than giving an observation on the content!

Interesting how a few words in a title or description of a picture can affect how you see it ....... What a difference a few words can make!

Steve, I think you may well be spot-on with your comment! I posted (what I thought were) some cracking photos of the north-east coast at the end of February, but they did not attract a single comment, positive or negative, which did surprise me somewhat. Why no comments? It occurred to me at the time that the title of that post ("No more snow!"), which came after a couple of posts centred on the recent snow, was possibly misleading and discouraging if viewers had had enough of winter images!

If anyone is interested, the "No more snow" topic is still there to be viewed - and I promise there's not a snowflake in sight!

"the bluebells have lost their glory" - I wouldn't disagree with you, Barrie, but I did feel that they were still a dense presence on the ground and added a splash of colour to the overall pictures of sunlight and shade that I found attractive.

Thanks for your thoughts, all - glad I could evoke some memories!

Mostly gone by now, but I did manage to find a good spot in the woods by a local reservoir with lots of lovely light and shade. Plus a few others. K-1 + FA 28-105. Hope these appeal!

No transport needed from Ambleside for this one - not a huge climb, but great views! K70 + DA 16-85. All comments appreciated.

Thanks for your comments, all. The contrast between light and shade is something that always catches my eye and makes me want to get the camera out, not always effectively!
