First time I've been based in Ambleside - minimising driving for the walks we had planned. Here are a few early morning shots to pass some time before breakfast at the B&B! All with K70 + DA 16-85mm.

Thanks, all - I do like people to be "relaxed and happy"!

I agree with you there, Steve! I think it could be that he has a knack of of capturing the essence of a scene quite close in, when most (myself included) would present a broader view which does not direct the viewer's attention so strongly.

I don't remember evening light being quite so striking locally before and yesterday evening proved to be remarkable. Lucky to be in the right place at the right time as I hope you will agree! K1 + FA 28-105. Do feel free to comment.

A super set - and you have beaten me to publication by a few days, John! I was based in Ambleside just a few days after you, by the look of things. There could be a few similar shots when I eventually get them processed, but not intended to be competitive, I hasten to add!

Steve, you are quite right - I meant to say aperture, not focal length. My fault!

Thank you all - glad you like them!
I really like the bokeh produced by the Sigma lens, though I also find it very sensitive as regards focal length - but find the right spot and it’s a cracker!

At last, though still not to be taken for granted. Just a few (for us) cheering blooms in the garden. Hope they do the same for someone else. I'm not good with names of flowers, so they are all unnamed! K1 + Sigma 105mm 2.8 Macro.

Would the sunset be worth waiting for or not? Images here taken as sundown approached, sometimes looking as though it was going to disappoint and sometimes worth the wait!

Especially interesting to see the colour of the dunes change as the "golden hour" before sunset takes effect, but also the perfect area for "big skies"!
