Shame you didn't make your ultimate destination Jules but you still grabbed some mighty nice photos. No2 really is a stunning shot.
Thanks!
Pleased you didn't say Final Destination!
It felt like it on Saturday and most of yesterday too!

Oh it's all in praise of the water tanker Alan, it's celebrating it's 30th birthday!
@Tim
There are times when I wish I wasn't so damn stubborn but Public Transport is the most respectful way I can treat my Lakes! There are more than enough cars there, without me adding to the statistics.
I keep wanting a VW Camper or something like that so that I could stop over and maybe when the legs and back etc finally give up I will get one but while I can still walk I will.

'I still think they need a foothold in the Pro market though with a Industry capable FF DSLR even if it's just a loss leader'
A flight of fancy. Companies that care about survival do not knowingly launch a FF camera, with the investment entailed, as a loss-leader.
Sony are in a mess and have FF all over the place, granted they did get back to a small profit last year but I would not be happy if I was and A mount user like I used to be...
You have to have a hook, maybe FF is not the hook, Pentax have a hook but it appeals to Photographers not young newbies (Rugged weather sealed and 100% viewfinder) they need another hook to get the young uns in but FF is not it.
So we need a smart, cool, trendy , happening (Can't believe I just typed that one!) advanced but easy to use product, that a hoodie would be happy to be seen with, Form a Q...

When it's grey and gloomy in the Lakes and I have to go out there, A because someone's paying me to go and get a particular shot (Not too often these days, dammit!) I go and try to get what the client wants! And B, when It's grey and gloomy in the Lakes and I'm going because I'm climbing the walls at home because it's the first day in a fortnight that I can see my hand in front of my face! I change my shooting strategy over to black and white and running water with grad filters etc.
All are worthwhile but not ideal, not as good as the sudden shaft of light, not as good, as the rainbow but if you don't go you don't get anything...

When I stopped off at Hadrian's wall https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/hadrian-s-wall-46827 I was on the way to Ballymack Hill Farm near Dumfries. Here are a sample of my pics.

You must live on Red Bull or something!
Or maybe you are just very very good!
Gobsmacking!
What Pentax Ricoh really need to do is reach out to some of the pros out there using their products to start endorsing those photographers, supporting their projects instead of constantly ignoring said pro togs. That would make a difference. I know a few togs sponsored by Canon and Nikon whilst I don't know one Pentax shooter in the UK who is sponsored by Pentax. This could raise their brand awareness substantially within the UK, showing pros out there using Pentax products would give the brand some credibility.

"... if it's good enough for the Pro's... " sells a lot of hobbiest gear, whether it's cameras, musical instruments, tools, etc, etc.
IMO pentax should bring out a FF model and lenses to suit, do what Gary Says above and then mount a huge advertising campaign.
Pentax aren't lagging behind because of lack of quality, they are lagging behind becuase of awareness and modern credibility.
Yeah, some hope!
FF is one of those things, isn't it? I've had Six, I think? Finally realised I just don't need it and can't see why anyone else would but that's because I tried it I guess.
I think after all, that the FF screamers may be right not because it's the right Camera to develop but because it seems to account for 90% of the forum noise around the WWW, for 10% of the Market. If it's not there people shout about why it isn't, If it is there people shout about why it is! Above all people do shout about it and that gets it noticed, Pentax need one then but Anyone who buys one has more money than sense, and of course I'm right about everything...
My track record may go against me here...

Its funny but without ever being much of a tree hugger, I've never liked the idea of just idly cruising around the Lakes in an Mx5 or Heaven forbid a Z4 with my man bag!
Its not for everyone though, I get that, and its lost me a lot of sunset/sunrise cliches over the years but It's kind of become one of my mission statements (Another being my pet hate of americanisms!). So I have to keep it up really...
