Or even FA!
Want light and not too expensive, I can't run to any F1.2's Smeggy!
Haven't decided if I want, all prime or zoom or all MF or AF, or a mixture really, I'm not to well up on the good uns and bad uns in the older Lenses but I know there are some gems out there?
what's good and what's to avoid then guys...

Currently Trawling the Lens reviews at the Big Yankee Doodle Dandy!

Although not for me, what about an MX-1?

Best regards
I like the MX-1, Really do but can't live with the sensor size, though I have seen some beautiful results from it, alas, I doubt they would ever be mine.
My ideal would be a Big Q with EVF but not the K-01, Mr Newsom forgot that he was not designing a Sideboard there!

You mean to say you are considering buying more kit Jules? I'm shocked!

On a serious note, unless you intend to do a lot of indoor shooting in low light, of subjects that don't move or only move very slowly, I don't think you will need focus peaking.

I don't think either the K-5iis or the K50 could be thought of as a lightweight setup, but my preference would be a K-5iis for all sorts of reasons.

I already have a K3 and K-5iis and love them both, trouble is I always want to take both of them out with me!
Regards
I know that this will happen, I toyed with a Fuji Xe-2 (Really like the X-Cams) trouble is, I would need to buy more Lenses then, and not cheap ones either! Also it's not weather sealed, my one big bug with the X-Cams. GR was also a thought but a bit limiting to just it and a wide adapter and I'd want the viewfinder as well, so Expensive and more than a K5 which wrecks my head!
K5 it is I think and just a smattering of older small zooms or manual primes, NO LIMITEDS, they are definitely off...Err, limits!
I really want another K5II of some description probably the S because I can process the files in the same fashion as the K3, which means less time at the P.C.
The other reason for staying with a DSLR is the old reliability thing, I have not bought a Camera in the last five years that did not have something wrong with it, save for two Pentax's! An Xe-2 would not be able to simply perform double duty in lieu of a K3.

Specific to the K50, I'll be building up a small lightweight set up this year to hang up in the hallway at home to try to ensure I don't go out without, so to speak (I always regret it)!
Now I don't want two K3's but I do want two bodies, so I can't leave home with a bag full of Lenses ad no Camera (Believe me I have tried)!
So My conundrum is between the K5II/S and the K50.
I may get some nice manual Primes for, "Doing it Properly".
K5's: 14 Bit and good low light focus capability (But only on the AF Lenses of course)!
K50: Peaking.
The rest of the handling things I reckon I can put up with but how useful do you think I'd find peaking? You seem to get on well without it Smeggy even with your F1.2...
would I see a huge difference between fourteen and twelve bit files?
Must admit I've never compared...

Gary you know full well that Pentax can't do sports or low light, so stop doing it please, you'll be giving the gear a good name!
Lovely shots there, as always, you have the skill sir, in spades!
Love your Gig/nightclub work and I'm now becoming more and more envious of your stadium work too, you'll have to go!

I hink the answer that comes from most (Not all) of the K3 users on here is, that they wouldn't go back to a K5IIs only but rhen most of us either have or are seeking (Me) A IIs as well... So doesn't really clear it up does it?
Aww helll, they are both fantastic and we're very very lucky to have two such beasts in the same stable really!

Don't know why but I really don't want two K3's, which would seem the more logical option for my wished for two body/system set up.
I like K5's, I always have, and I want to keep one around just for the pleasure of having it I suppose, the K3 will take time to grow on me but I think I'll end up feeling the same about it or even more strongly to be honest...

AA simulator on or off?
Compared with the IIs, like for like? (I know your not interested in this one but I'd like to know your thoughts, and to be honest I'm not a patient Pixel peeper!)
Just wondering, it's all got me intrigued, back in my Sony A900 days, there was almost a Forum Spontaneous combustion effect when they realised that Sony were "Cooking" their RAW files and applying NR in RAW even when it was turned off in the Camera.

They even have the Lens foot for the DA* 300mm, that I can't get over here!
There is someone on the Pentax USA forum that makes them, by all accounts they are better than the OEM foot.

Indeed it is Mike, indeed it is!
It's just annoying I could not get an original when in the States the Foot is classed as an accessory for the Q to K adaptor, here no, as usual! As you say though the Fanotec one is better by far, sturdier, lets you carry the Lens by the foot and has a built in Arca Groove for mounting on a Tripod (You do all use your long lenses on a tripod now, don't you girls and boys?)

Oh yeah and about half the price too!
