I like the B&W treatment, it really makes the branches and twigs pop out. But there is something to like in either version.
I thought, reading your intro, we were going to get a picture of "the" tree

Both nice, but I prefer the colour version at the moment.
I think the B&W needs a bit more structure and/or a bit more contrast, particularly in the grass. I suspect there's a cracking B&W in there, but for me the current conversion needs a bit of "tweaking".

The colour for me too because of the rich but not overdone tones.

Thanks for taking time to leave feedback - much appreciated.
Barrie, I haven't got a photo of that tree, but it is on the list
Phil, unfortunately I'm not great with B&W. In fact not great with PP generally. Maybe one to re-visit when I know more. The conversion was a high structure preset in silver effex

I'd never even heard of it but I noticed it from the main road, reversed into a farmyard gate and took this (not brilliant, I know).
Of course afterwards I found out how famous it was

Colour for me too. Frost would have been great but the golden tones here work just as well. I admire the precision of the composition, the fact that the branches do not touch the horizon make this top class.

As to the branches, dunno if that was luck or unconscious learning.

Forecast was for a sharp frost yesterday, so decided that may add to the scene. Unfortunately the frost didn't happen. C&C welcome
