If they make it the actual size of an SLR,say the size of a Pentax Super A, which I'm holding in my hand right now and so wishing the K-5 was that compact ( and it's FF ) then they'll have a winner. The Nikon DF, while having a stunning sensor is still a monster.

Pentax, IMO, need to release a FF DSLR in the size of a 35mm SLR body. OK if they have to make it mirrorless like the Sony A7 to achieve that sort of size then so be it, but just do it FFS!!!
Agree Smeggy, I know you like to shoot in low light, not my bag but they have to try to cater for the indoor arena/nightclub/night time street shooters out there too!
20Mp APSC won't gain you very much if anything over a K5 but it might give you the advantages of the K3, meter and AF in a small light package and so keep you with us a while longer???

Full Qoute:

2014 Pentax will have a range of four SLR K, all recent.
The K3, KL to the retro look, K60 and K600.

Ricoh would decline the advanced of the K3 in the lower boxes, with a simplified version of the RGB meter adopted by three enclosures, an AF module simplified 10 collimators for the K60, and stabilization and simulation of AA of K3 for KL.

KL, K60 K600 would be based on the same chassis, same new electronics and the improved K50.

-The K600, resumed the bodywork of the K60 except the same back panel at the K500, only in black.
Posséderai in addition to the K500:
-A new electronics for more responsiveness.
-One AF improved through interaction with the meter while keeping the module AF the K500.
-A new meter derived from the K3.
-A display of collimators AF active highlighted.
- And always the same apsc 16 mpx sensor.
-Ofcourse with loss of finish any time.

-The K60 would have the same body the K50 with a redesigned front sheathing and a new back panel redesigned to also match the aesthetics of KL and receive a small grip, still proposed in technicolor.
Posséderai in addition to the K50:
-An apsc 20 mpx with AA sensor.
-Wifi
-A new module AF derived from that of the K3 with 17 collimators 15 crosswise and one in f2.8.
- And always finish any time.

-KL would have a different of the K60 retro style plastic body & 600 except for the equal to that of the K60 back panel. The body is different also for the use of the battery of the K3 bulkier than that of the K50 and a small LCD display on top, proposed by sylver, and black (in limited edition).
Posséderai in addition to the K60:
-An apsc 20 mpx without AA sensor.
-Stab and simulation of AA of K3
-L'AF of the K3.
-L' the K5 obtuse.
-A larger buffer.
-Dedicated pdc Tester, à l'ancienne.
-HDMI Jack.
-Finish all time.
And with such a zoom: o: o: o

Gotta love Bing translate!

I read your comment on his video, on his you tube channel a full one minute after you made it Smeggy! Hilarious, you upset the missus though, it never good to chuckle in the bedroom apparantly!

In French but can be translated easily...

Just to get the rumor mill flowing...

K-60 and K-600 are successors to current K-50 and K-500, but borrowing lots of tech from the K-3.

K-600 comes with a 16MP sensor.

K-60 with a 20 MP sensor. (Presumably because the 16's are runing out!)

K-L is, apparently, a ‘retro styled’ DSLR, also sports a 20 MP sensor.

Letter L may suggest it may bear some resemblance with the legendary Pentax LX, but we’ll see.

Most likely the K-L was imagined to be a model priced in between the K-60 and K-3, and will be available in both silver and black.

Expected announcement is CP+ 2014 (Feb 13th – 16th).

Happy days...

Mine too Algi, the second one has amazing detail but that was because it was the only one taken when in probably the "Cleanest" light of the session. That Squally cloud to the right was doing it's thing over the estuary most of the time I was there! It really created some amazing diffuse light at times but I was only given enough time for about half a dozen shots in quick succession, from two pretty similar locations, time and tide waits for no man I guess...

So of course the two inevitables happened...
1: It rained cats and dogs for all five days we were there!
2: When it finally stopped I went for a quick walk to shoot the Forth Bridge!

All taken at the end of the day in the short two Hr dry spell on our last day (yesterday)...

Doh! Of course it will be using the gasket on the lens side for the other seal!
Was hoping for some rubber on rubber action.

I agree with the others here however, it seems difficult to imagine what else they could have shoehorned into that tight space.

Oh stop it!

I know people have been clamouring for this for ages now, I wonder what makes it the holy grail? The f1.7 converter seems to do a very good job with the right lenses. Will this be a significant improvement on that? WR is obviously welcome.

People expect good focus tracking even with their TC's these days, we now have a body capable of it and with the DA*300 a reasonable (Not brilliantly quick) Lens. I think a lot of people (Me anyway) were hoping for an internal SDM/Screwdrive version of the 1.7AFA, which would not only have SDM contacts but be able to drive the lens a'la 1.7AFA to greater effect than the Lens alone. Don't know if I'm making sense here but still...
So enhanced SDM on lenses with the contacts and screwdrive for those without, this I think would have needed a much bigger convertor and I cannot see that there will be any internal motor in this convertor, so as others have said it's just a straight thru, just like the Tamron PZ, which unless they have managed a proper Pentax miniaturisation miracle, in turn means duff AF.
Electronics may save the day but this is starting to look like a re-vamp or fake, not something with the Pentax difference...

@Cabstar, Wasn't meant as a dig! Sorry if it souned that way!
Looking at the Pic that has surfaced it looks very like the Tamron 1.4X PZ?
If it's meant to be weather sealed there would be a gasket around the top, at least? Not so sure now...
