Hi Haworth,
Got my Heliopan polariser, it can be quite suttle!

I know the lure of the WR is going to prove too much for me!
May as well just stop fighting it and prepare to be in the Dog House again over Christmas...

How times change...When I set out on the path of learning photography in the 1970s a 24mm was considered ultra-wide and I could only dream of affording a 20mm.....most of us had a 28mm and that was as wide as we could afford to go.
Yeah John, I remember those days 28mm 125th at F8 K64, feels nice just writing that out
When I had various 10-12-24mm Zooms I just couldn't fill the space

Stefan do you have any experience of the Voigtlander 90mm F3.5 APO Lanther SLII?
Looks like a cracking Lens and not too ridiculous on price...

I've always found that too Gwyn! I just don't like wide wides or maybe I just don't get wide wides? In my quest for purity I've ended up going "Prime" it just works better for me, My widest Lens is the 15mm Ltd which topping out around 22.8mm these days ain't wide at all...
When I see a wide vista I like to stitch a couple together using the 21 or the 40 but rarely the 15, I guess we all just see things differently...
Which is what keeps it interesting after all

If I used a Manual K mount or Chipped (Voigtlander?)Macro with the 1.7AFA Would that work without all the switching fuss???
Sorry if I'm being Dense here, I can't think why it wouldn't but I'll need to be more careful before splashing the cash in future...

Ohh I'm a bit annoyed because I bought the Lens now, it's a two stage operation to use the focus clutch, which is annoying the hell out of me!

I was given to understand it would work but it doesn't, Ah well
looks like someone will get a cheap pressie this year....

lets not all dwell on why the Camera went from bad to good,
Lets just be glad that it did!
I wasn't suggesting that you personally were having expectations set to high more myself actualy, when I bought my K7 with more than 25 Yr's experience I expected to get very good results straight out of the box! I didn't, the k7 is different to any Canon or Nikon I have ever used and it took me a little bit to tune myself in
I hope you are now happy with your k7 I'm most definately getting there with mine, in fact I'm using it more than my K5...
It's without a doubt a fiddlers Camera with more settings than most of us will ever use in fact I could happily while away the cold dark winter just twiddling with it...
Err the K7 that is...
