Hoya HRT Polarizer...

Sounds like some kind of Menopausal thing

Tastless Humour aside though for a minute, I believe these are quite new?
So as a shot in the dark -1 2/3 stops Dark
Do they work ok on Limiteds? Vignetting wise?
Most of my lenses are 49mm thread so one of these should go down nicely for the old Landscaping...

I don't see why it shouldn't work.
Vignetting is mostly only a problem with the wider lenses so if you've a DA15 or DA21 you might want to check that first.

I have both of those, they are the two I'm wondering about actually.
The filter itself does not look too deep but is deeper than a Pro 1,
anyone any experience of these:

the Hoya Website is less than helpful, They look like Standard 5mm Frames but I cannot confirm this anywhere?
I would greatly appreciate someone who has one giving the once over with the old ruler to see how deep they are...

the hoya filter I have is 5mm deep - cant test it in the 15mm Lts 'cos my filter is a 52mm thread and the stepping ring wont go on because of the built in hood getting in the way (hence my recent topic question).

I've just tried a Kenko filter which is 4mm deep - no vigetting.

Dunno if the extra 1mm willmake a difference.

Ok further experiment - just stacked the the kenko, stepping ring and hoya filter, total depth 13mm and got slight vignetting at the corners, so looks like a 5mm deep filter would be Ok.

I know what you mean, I have the HI-TEC System (As good as Lee but half the price! Plug)The whole set up was fine on my 77mm Nikon set up but looks cumbersome when applied heath robinson style to my Pentax's
I just think the Ltd lenses are just too small to make it viable (Arthritic sausage fingers!)for me anyway regardless of whether they go down to a 49mm thread or not, so far the only disadvantage I have found since moving from Nikon to Pentax...

Lokks like the Polariser is the way to go for me but I would have preferred the Grads...Hey Ho...

Got a nice deal on a Heliopan slim Multicoated Polariser, So I am going with that!

Got my Heliopan polariser, it can be quite suttle!
K7 DA 40mm with heliopan Polariser.



It's pretty good on the 21 too!
K5 DA21mm with Heliopan Polariser.



It's very uneven on the 15 though but I think I need to practice with it more but Polarisers have a bad time on really wides anyhow. Just thought you'd Like to know...

Thanks for taking the time to post these Jules - nice shots by the way, really good clarity. I also struggled using the 15mm with a polariser, but the one I used was a linear - sky on one side of the frame a lovely deep blue, but blown out on the other corner!

Re. the Hi Tech filters - will let you know if I change to the 12-24mm, but no plans yet, still mulling it over.
