Hi John, I am finding difficulty in picking up Filters for the 49mm thread new. I was after a couple of Graduated Neutral Densities (A One stop and a Two Stop)of good quality, and as I had managed to source a good Heliopan Polariser in 49mm decided to go for theirs but they are apparantly not imported into this country? So off I went and searched again and came across the B+W ones, which I found one store in the UK advertising so put in an order...
After waiting for six weeks I gave up and Ebayed em in from the States...
Everything seems to start at 52...
Except life that is:
Unless you know different?

Tried to get some Heliopan Grad Filters and was told I'd have to get em from Germany

Tried to get B+W Versions and the one Shop in the UK that had em didn't!
Got em in the end but getting things in 49 Ain't always easy...
Gripe Over...

Depends what you do with it Dave, First and foremost I am a Landscaper, and I had a K7 and a Kr (Very briefly). I loved the Body and controls of the K7 but I loved the image quality of the Kr, couldn't keep the Kr due to other commitments at present. It is smaller lighter and faster in just about every way than the K7 but the K7 is beautifully made.
I got more out of the K7 but had to work harder to get it, now I just have a K5, we all have our crosses
If you want only one body either will serve you well if you want two, get two the same or similar, K5/K7 Or 2x Kr, despite Unlocker telling me that flogging the K7 for a Kr would bug me I did it anyway and he was quite right...

I think as Hefty said, it used to be a volume of sales thing but I've noticed a lot of their new Lenses are going to be Pentax K. So presumably Hoya must have hit some pre determinind target required by Sigma HQ to trigger enhanced production? Good news all round really, I believe even the new 150mm Macro will be K fit too!
Sigma must think Pentax is on the "UP"...

Tried a 60-250 recently and it's faster than the 50-135 about on a par with the 300mm I've just bought, can't be more subjective than that really though I'm afraid...

Chris did say all Sigma Lenses price increased on the first of January, so as soon as they sell out of their "Old" stock they'll have to buy in at Sigma's "New" price, that 8-16mm is a bargain at present. Assuming any new stock is even available from Japan, Can't last...
As an aside I notice that on the SRS site the K5 is back up to £999
And the Nikon and Canon versions of the 150-500 are going for £750. SRS do special deals for us "Special?"
people, I think it's all too easy to forget how lucky we are to have em...
