Two bodies will always win for me, unless someone develops a 16-200 2.8 using water lens technology. LOL
Anyway, the number of issues that the K5 has is certainly alarming. Let's just hope that this isn't as bad as it sounds since there are a lot more people who are happy with the camera but we don't hear from.
I Love my K5 err K5's(:twisted and the K7 before it, there's no going back now to Nikon or anyone else as far as I'm concerned...

My number 3 should arrive Monday.
No matter what people say about other makes having problems the K-5 seems to be having more than most.
Seriously when I came over to the erm "Light Side".
I mentioned my usual two Body set up and was told I was being a bit daft wanting two bodies, not so sure now, even if you don't use it it's nice to know it's there!
Can I have my old K7 back please???
When I only had one body I missed so many shots due to changing lenses that I would always take two bodies out on a shoot now.
Cleaned out again so I'm jut going to have to Stick it to Pentax a bit to get a reliable Camera oot of em...

Events like the Whitby Goth meet, are typical examples. It's a two body event. Things happen fast, so scrambling to change glass is not an option. You'll need a 70-200mm for the longer shot and a 16-50 or similar for the closer shots.
Best regards

Despite this and rarely if ever having these problems with my previous Digital Nikons, I enjoy my Pentax sufficiently to put up with this until I get a less unruly one. I really do love it round here, and love the handling of the K5/7 Bodies better than any other DSLR I've used! Am I mellowing since coming back to the Pentax fold?

SRS Checked mine before they sent it out so they can atest to the condition of the Sensor when supplied too.(Second Body) On a seperate issue mine had quite a few Hot pixels which I mapped out and it locked up yesterday for no reason (FW 1.03)It's not all roses is it!...
Hoping it'll be ok though, fingers crossed.

Alls well that ends well, I managed to get a pair of the B+W ones thru B&H who were very helpful...
Probably going to get a Ten stop ND for waterfalls next, Looked at those new variable jobs but I just don't think they go quite far enough, I want ten stops not eight...

yeah, i wish 49mm filters were a bit more common.
but while they aren't as common as 52mm and larger, they're not so rare that i can never get a filter i want.
actually, the only filters i use are solid nd and polarising filters. i used to use cokin-a, but gave up on that in favor of travelling more simply and using hdr.
i digress. i'm now after a 1000x nd filter.
Jacobs and Calumet certainally stock both.
I must admit I'm fussy about where I buy my filters. As they are such an easy thing to forge I like to buy from reputable shops where the chance of fakes is lowest. I'm not implying that other shops knowingly sell fakes, but its very hard to know exactly the channel they come through.
Think I'm going to end up on "Grumpy Old Men"!
