Sony and Panasonic both make several models with very large zoom ranges but I'm not sure how they compare in weight.

A DSLR of any type wouldn't even come close to that zoom range no matter what lens you paired it with.

I suspect that my usual christmas morning photo walk (while everyone else sleeps off the late night and booze) will not happen for the second year running (babies will do that) but hopefully I'll get out at some point with the camera.

Amazon had this deal on cyber Monday and myself and at least one other member got it but it's now down in price again. This is the new version with a more modern look and HD coatings instead of SMC.

They currently have just five copies.

The plastic-mount 35mm f/2.4 and 50mm f/1.8 are also on offer at under £100 each, which beats SRS on price.

I've no experience of the slower 10-20 but the 17-50mm is excellent and since Sigma's announcement that they will no longer produce K-mount lenses, there won't be any new ones available in the future.

Welcome to the forum. There aren't many Pentax users over here in Spain so always good to meet another one. Weather resistance is handy not just for rain but also for sand on beaches.

30 quid actually isn't bad for eight Takumar hoods, though most if not all were for telephoto lenses.

Regarding the field of view, maybe the new Pentax isn't really quite as wide as 11mm...

Images are less likely, not more, to be selected by the Explore algorithm if they are in groups.

If this is the 64 ASA that came out in 1951 (according to wikipedia) and we use the rule of reducing sensitivity by a stop every decade then I calculate it'll need to be exposed at EI 0.5

If it's the earlier ASA 40 then lower still.
