The Tamron 18-270 was out for a couple of years before the Pentax version appeared.

While we're on the topic, I noticed that the sensor clean option which uses the SR to shake the sensor, on my new K3 makes no noise at all. On my old K200D the vibration could be clearly heard and felt.

Is this normal?

Very pedestrian shots, poorly processed. These do nothing to show what the lens might be capable of - they may as well have not posted them.

I'm surprised to see that as it's the widest there is for 645. I suppose the new 28-45 must have sent sales of the 25mm plummeting.

If it's 2100 USD it'll likely be 2100 GBP.

I can't see them bringing out two models side-by-side, given the low number they'll sell of any FF model. I expect the new FF to have the same 36MP sensor as the D800.

A thought just struck me, that given Pentax's previous relationship with Tamron in bringing some Tamron lens designs to the K-mount but under the Pentax name, they could persuade them to release the Tammy 24-70 f/2.8 lens as a Pentax-branded design. That would cover them for a fast standard zoom. Perhaps license the optical design and add weather-sealing and release it as a DFA*.

I much prefer the green - I hate that they started copying Canon with the red rings.

I'm still far more interested in this lens than the new camera.
