Looks ugly but quite big and very functional.

I thought all the FF evangelists had been waiting five years or more for a Pentax FF, now they can't wait another few months?

I love my K3 but was very tempted by the K5 II. The K5 should give you a much better sensor than in the K7, but I understand the K5 AF was still not great and that this was vastly improved in the K5 II.

Be aware this is a one month trial only. After that you'll have to buy it.

Having tried it a bit, the effects offered are garish and unpleasant, I've already un-installed it.

I'm very tempted by the 55mm F1.4 star at this price link That seems a good portrait length and very bright. I see a used one just went on here from one of our departing Pentax users.
That's a great price, though I don't think I'd risk a grey import & losing the two year guarantee on an SDM lens.

There aren't really any cheap 100mm lenses. I disagree with anyone who thinks portraits shouldn't be sharp - soft portraits look like they were taken by a bad photographer in the 70s. By all means smooth the skin a little in PP if you must to remove blemishes, but a good portrait needs to be sharp.

I have the M 100/2.8 and the Takumar 105/2.8. The former is pretty good wide open, the latter less so. But they're the cheapest 100mm lenses you'll find for Pentax (or any other mount) and they usually go for 80 quid or more for a good copy.

Very nice results. Care to share how you process the colour shots to get the colour right?

Disappointing to see that people continue to buy what the salesman tells them to instead of what's best.

I'm surprised to see that Fuji aren't doing better in the mirrorless market - as far as I can tell they have far and away the best cameras, lenses and system overall.

One of my favourite photographers (Phil Kneen - https://philkneen.wordpress.com/) uses these guys: http://ukfilmlab.com/uk-film-lab-order-form/

I've never used them myself but based on Phil's work they seem to be very good, especially the scans.
