I found these third-party batteries which claim to be 2800mAh, a 60% increase on the standard ones. I have a couple of third-party batteries for use in my K3 and they don't last as long as the original battery but they work well and are far better value than replacement genuine Pentax ones.

These ones state they're "decoded" but I have no idea what that means. The photos show 1900mAh despite the 2800mAh claims.

Anybody have any ideas or experience with these?

This problem seems quite common with Pentax, if not all photographic manufacturers. The FA 50/1.4 & 35/2 have been thought to be officially discontinued for years but can still be found new, although in the case of the 35mm that may be due to the exorbitant price it usually sells for.

Personally I'd ignore it, though as stated here, there's the "risk" that it indicates HD versions, which may come in at a higher price (at least initially).

I hadn't even realised until I saw this thread that there was a classified section on the site but outside of the forum.

Very nice. I love taking photos of raindrops but have never had the chance to get any on spider webs.

As someone who now lives on the continent, where photographic gear (new or second hand) generally costs significantly more than in the UK, what I see here is that people from outside the UK expect to sell their gear for outside-the-UK prices, and of course it doesn't work.

I have seen stuff (a LOT of stuff) for sale in Spain for what it costs new in the UK, or very slightly (5%-10%) less. Second hand equipment will typically sell for at least 30% more than it would in the UK.

Of course, there are always occasional bargains to be had (I recently bought a virtually new and unused DA 15mm ltd for €300) but they are very rare indeed.

That is a pretty good deal, though these days I'd be willing to pay more to go for the K-S2 over the K50.

I only have the FA 50/1.7 of these two and it's very good, though focusing is not the most reliable, when it does focus properly it's very sharp indeed with good colour and contrast.. Build quality is quite low and nowhere near as good as my DA limiteds (which I assume are similar in build to the FA limiteds).

Mine was also cancelled. Just as well I bought a DA 15mm last month.

Looking at what little technical info is provided, the model number corresponds to the HD 15mm ltd, boxed weight is stated as both 23g and 213g, date first available May 2009 (the HD ltd series was released in 2013 or 2014). In short, it's a confusing mess.

However, it does state 14mm f/4, which doesn't exist for the Q, it states it's "limited edition" and the photo shows the DA ltd. I don't think anyone would have a problem returning it if they receive a Q lens instead.

It's currently #62 in the cameras and photography section, so they're getting a lot of orders for it.

Yeah, I bought a Sigma MF 400mm that was full of fungus from them for £50 I think it was. Quick phone call and it was arranged to be returned and full postage costs refunded back to me so even though you have to be careful and examine it upon delivery they're pretty good if there is an issue. My local CEX has a FA 50mm f1.4 for £150 that I've given the once over and it's mint but they won't budge on price
Price seems OK to me. I paid more than that for my f/1.7 version.
