Pentax K-m Auto Focus Calibration

Hi,
Thanks for helping a newbee.

I have a Pentax K-M (2000) that is slightly out of focus on all three lenses. I have cleaned the lenses and had the camera body cleaned. The photos have a frosted look like a clear mat finish. I have seen several articles on adjusting the Auto focus on Pentax and other digital cameras but none for this camera.

Is there an easy way to get it re-calibrated?

Should I take the camer to a professional shop?

The K-r was the first "entry level" Pentax DSLR to have auto-focus fine tuning. The K-m doesn't have it unless you go down the route of hacking the firmware. I did this on my K200D (th model before the K-m). It's not difficult but you have to be very careful and be aware that you run the risk of rendering the camera completely useless.

The only other option would be to send it to Pentax for them to do it. I'm not sure how long that would take or if they would charge for it.

On the K-m you can use the Debug Mode (various tutorials on how to do this are on the web), but the problem is you can't do it for individual lenses, it is a global adjustment only.
