Price and mechanical and optical condition?

The MZ-6 is a nice enough camera, it feels good in the hands and AF is quite fast, though with some use I found that I really noticed it's only sensitive to vertical or horizontal contrasts (I can't remember which). That results in it struggling to focus in situations where it wouldn't if it had cross-type sensors in the AF.

I assume when you state the shutter is "responsive" that you mean the shutter speed changes dependent on the available light.

In that case it does sound like the needle is stuck or the mechanism to move it broken, but even if the light meter is working, on such an old camera it may not be accurate at all.

You could run a test roll through it but be prepared for disappointment. It sounds like it needs repaired and the only solution will be to take it to a professional place to do that.

The advantage that Pentax have is that a larger proportion of their users understand photography and proper cameras and will therefore appreciate the huge advantages that a DSLR has over a smartphone or a compact. Fuji are in the same boat with their mirrorless systems.

Nikon and Canon users on the other hand are mostly people who want a DSLR but they have no idea why or what to do with it when they get it, and that's a very fickle market. Such users will struggle to get results in which they see a great difference when compared to a compact or a smartphone and so many will not buy further accessories or lenses and many will abandon their DSLRs altogether for the convenience of a phone.

All photography prices are going up. I keep getting mails from retailers' websites stating "beat the price increases - buy now!".

I expect the K3II replacement to be priced significantly above the K3II when it's was released.

I would select only the print on the easel, not the easel itself, to adjust the colours. The print will then be B&W as intended and the easel will simply look blue. The lines separating the print from it's surroundings are all straight so it shouldn't be too hard.

I think the KP seems like a good camera and is certainly one of the best-looking DSLRs I've ever seen. It's expensive for what it offers, but that may change as the street price adjusts to the market and currency fluctuations.

I do think that with the declining market for digital cameras on the whole, global financial instability caused largely by brexit and Trump, the lottery of who Russia will invade next etc etc will drive prices up.
