I've looked at her example of CA, and struggled to see it without zooming in to such an extreme that the picture quality had already degraded into a mess of 'jaggies'. I'd like to think I can be objective over the good and bad of 'my' brand of camera, but I really can't see the extreme CA she complained of.

I also read her review of the K3II, which despite being little more than a minor upgrade to the K3 (her view, not mine), appeared to be CA free. I'm afraid despite her antecedents I have doubts about her competence as a reviewer.

You can change the file prefix in-camera, and afaik the numbering resets, or can be reset.

It is/was an inherent problem I'm afraid.

In the US I understand some users had replacements sent to them, but most were told it had to go to the main repairers.

A number of users came up with diy repairs.

More on the US forum.

Bought some Manfrotto kit from them a week or so ago. One item went AWOL. Replaced without any debate. Great prices and in my experience great customer service.

There should have been one in the box the camera came in.

Won't the retailer take it back, maybe with a restocking charge?

You don't say where the photos 'came out' - rear lcd? In pp software?

Could be a card problem.

Weird? Joined today in the early hours to post in a 4 year old thread?

Thanks for the good wishes though!

I have a K-1 with Firmware V.1.00. I understand there is a later version. I have attempted to find this without success. Please could someone give explicit instructions how to download firmware or tell me where to find the information. John Ruffell
Take a look here https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/sos-firmware-update-10-1-for-k-50---techn...

Doesn't matter that the thread refers to a K50, the principle is the same, although the actual firmware is different and can be found here http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/support/digital/k1.html. The UK site only appears to have 1.3
