Good luck to them I say. I ordered 5 x 55-300mm lenses and then cancelled them at the last moment. Have regretted doing so ever since.
I haven't regretted ordering my five! Three arrived today and two more should come on Monday. Any chance of making a buck has to be taken.
Why am I suddenly uncomfortable with being a Pentaxian?

He hopefully will see his name mentioned and answer this for us.

Mine seems OK on AF, but on manual focus it's going
just beyond infinity which I'm not happy about.

How are other people finding their's focuses on infinity?
Spot on or just a bit off?

Edit: The image in the viewfinder is good enough to
focus on.
I'm struggling with 'beyond infinity', not from a pure semantical perspective, but in practice. I thought a number of lenses exhibited this behaviour deliberately so that they didn't 'bang' against the end stop when using AF?

Cash is actually prohibited by eBay, plus there's no evidence you've been paid and have sent the goods, so beware.

Whatever you wrote in your auction is the binding agreement, so if you said PayPal only then it's PayPal only.

You are best to follow the rules properly, so he has four days to pay after which you can file a case to end the transaction. For the details, check the T&Cs on the website.
I agree with this being the letter of the (eBay) law, but sometimes when you rattle someones cage how they respond speaks volumes.

You'll find the process in the eBay 'Help' section, but the best way is to cancel the transaction by mutual agreement.

Here's the link to the 'Unpaid Item Policy';

I smell a rat!

If you don't go via PayPal, you're not protected by PayPal.

There are a number of scams involving stolen credit/debit cards, cheques, etc that are used to fund accounts that in turn are used to pay 'you'. Once the balloon go's up the bank(s) recover the money by 'charging back' from your account. You lose the money and the goods.

Tell him you want cash or find another buyer.

I appreciate you're trying to get money for Christmas, but I'm sure your family and friends will understand that this year Santa might arrive a bit late.

Angle of view is the only thing that matters with hoods so one that is intended for a 50mm lens on 35mm film will be the correct size for a 35mm lens on APS-C format, since both lenses have the same angle of view.

Since 50mm is a short telephoto on APS-C then you bought the right thing.

Rectangular ones will be more efficient than round ones and petal ones are probably better still but, to be honest, flare has never been a problem with Pentax lenses.
Thanks Ken. Hope this doesn't turn into HBA

I'd also try a few with a different target. There's no guarantee the focus points actually match exactly with the indicators in the viewfinder, and the dish is a very small target. Ok, the shot with the 16-50 is fine, but there are a lot of branches, etc in the foreground.

Interesting how the colour rendition differs as well. The 16-50 looks warmer?

Are the rectangular hoods better than round ones?

Can't remember who/where the advise came from, but on the strength of it I bought a short tele circular lens hood for my FA 50 that screws on, the idea being that it allowed for the crop factor.

Haven't had any issues with it, which I suppose is the main test, but does this make sense, ie using a short tele hood?
