I wish you luck with this; don't do any weddings, people, animals, trees, plants, buildings, .....etc. myself, so I admire your bravery.

Only thing I can suggest is a Plan B in case of rain. Is there a venue you can use instead of the park?

I use various Lowepro 'Nova' bags. Comfortable, spacious, waterproof (with built in rain cover), easy access, and good for storage generally.

Not something I'd buy. DSLRs are so efficient that I don't see the point now of making things more difficult. Some years ago when DSLRs were hugely expensive there might have been a point in putting "digital film" in our film SLRs, if the price was right. Now the idea has IMHO been well overtaken.
Couldn't disagree more. Sorry John. There's something about older, well engineered, film cameras that makes them a pleasure to use, but film can be a nuisance and expensive to get processed, so what's wrong with 'digital film'?

Best of both worlds I reckon

However at full zoom there is quite a bit of barrel movement. It does wobble quite a bit. More than I would expect. Is this normal?
They all do. Don't overlook the fact that the length of the lens almost doubles at full zoom, so hardly surprising there's a bit of movement if you flex the lens.

Now if it drooped, that'd be a problem!

thanks Mongoose re poor quality adaptors - I'll will certainly check the one I purchased out thoroughly ( when it finally arrives really cheap from china:shock - I'll probably bin it now after your advice -that could have been an expensive step on the learning curve!
The springs referred to by Mongoose are easily removed; they're held in place with a screw and simply serve to lock the adapter into the mount. Take the spring off; no harm will be done and the adapter will work ok.

The recommendation for AF fine adjustment with a zoom is either to average the adjustment having checked at both ends and middle of the range, or to adjust for the focal length you use most.

My spam filter will deal with subjects, not just senders, so can't the Forum spam software filter on 'furniture', etc?

I looked at these myself, but haven't bought yet.

They are sub-branded 'Hoya Corporation', which (a) ages them a little, but (b) might explain why they're 'cheap', as I can't see Ricoh wanting to sell anything without their name on it somewhere.

That said, I bought a 'genuine' battery for my K20D from China, and whilst it looks genuine, I noted it doesn't have gold coloured contacts, they're silver, just like this one. Works ok though, and even came in a Pentax box (but they're easily enough made).

Hi .. I do not speak English fluently .. I have a pentax k7 ... and I'm desperate to disable NR .. I saw that ye have solved this problem .. I try to download the files "hack" but they are not available, I thank you for your help .. my firmware version is 1.12 ...
Found this. Don't have a K7, so not sure if it's correct;

There's a C (does that mean configuration?) menu option 18 in my version of firmware which offers Slow Shutter Speed NR (1 On & 2 Off)
Says that Noise Reduction will not activate when using a slow shutter speed.

The reduction was from 3000x4000 pixels to 1200x1600, so quite a lot really.

As to sensor, 12m, 2/3" X-Trans (there's a hint!) CMOS.
