Just wondered if my copy is normal:

Zoom seems a little stiff and the focus ring very easy?

Without trying your lens it's hard to say. The descriptions could mean different things to different people.

Why not try another in a shop somewhere and then you'll be able to compare.

The zoom is fairly stiff on mine but I like that as there is no 'creep' when using it at an angle. Also the focus ring is as you say easy to turn. I don't mind this either.
However at full zoom there is quite a bit of barrel movement. It does wobble quite a bit. More than I would expect. Is this normal?

Hi,

if it wobbles take it back. Two year warranty if bought from Pro dealer.

Is it taking good sharp photos? That's what matters.

They all do. Don't overlook the fact that the length of the lens almost doubles at full zoom, so hardly surprising there's a bit of movement if you flex the lens.

Now if it drooped, that'd be a problem!

Found some more on this; seems to confirm tight zoom, reviewer tested several.
