Is this battery genuine?

I looked at these myself, but haven't bought yet.
They are sub-branded 'Hoya Corporation', which (a) ages them a little, but (b) might explain why they're 'cheap', as I can't see Ricoh wanting to sell anything without their name on it somewhere.
That said, I bought a 'genuine' battery for my K20D from China, and whilst it looks genuine, I noted it doesn't have gold coloured contacts, they're silver, just like this one. Works ok though, and even came in a Pentax box (but they're easily enough made).

K-5 batteries have silver coloured contacts. My K-5 batteries are Made in Japan and some have codes on and some don't. All were bought from SRS or came with the camera.

ok one of my 2 pentax battery, that is the one bought months after I bought the k5 from an Amazon dealer and that looks exactly the one I posted (without the serial number, while the one with the k5 comes with serial number and it is made in china), is now suddenly ghosted (it suddenly decided to last for just few shots).
The battery is supposed to come with 2 years of warranty, but now the dealer is not present on amazon anymore and I cannot reach him.
Do you have any advices for me? I contacted Pentax.co.uk to investigate on the matter, but I have few hopes...at least I will know if I can trust these batteries.

eBay prices are often different to the website prices, so worth a check before purchase.
AS regards the faulty battery, I'd just return it to Pentax as a complaint. That way they have it and can deal with it accordingly. Discussing it could take ages and you'll still need to send it back at some point. Send your proof of purchase with it, keeping a copy of course.

Great John,
I'll do, assuming the battery is Pentax original. Shouldn't I just wait an acknowledged from them? If they do not respond in few days I will send it anyway.
Also I have it for more than one year now, the Amazon seller sold it with 2 years warranty...but I wonder if it actually means something

it is very similar to the original one, but it lacks of the serial number. What do you think?
I also suspect that pentax does not make cell batteries in Japan.
P.S.: it looks to me that the one sold by SRS is exactly the same.
