I've not had chance to try the K-5 besides which I generally shoot RAW, I can say that I really like the K20D and I've been pleased with the general jpeg output. I really think if Ricoh take Pentax down the EVF route the K-5 may well be the last traditional DSLR from Pentax unfortunately.

I'm quite happy to stick with the K20D I've even considered buying another and replacing the K10D, yes I like the K20D THAT much

Whichever you use K-5 or K20D you'll need the best of lenses to see the full potential of the camera, the following was straight from the K20D with Tamron Di 90:

Web based images just won't do it justice!

RAW (DNG) for flexibility when processing, there's so much more information available and DNG allows me to transport images between home and work computers.

It's hard to tell from a web sized image, but looks good.

A lovely set, I've yet to experience the Northern Lights, you're so lucky.

Happy New Year

IIRC that's a problem with Picasa Cliff, are you shooting PEF or DNG? Will PSP open DNG's?

I'd generally agree with the above comments but would add that a 1.4x Tamron TC may give you a little more reach with acceptable results. There's an interesting article here:

If you scroll to the bottom of the page there are some other tests.
