The F is better built but has a narrower focus ring. The FA looks nicer IMHO and can pass more info to the camera vis eletronic contacts I believe, but no idea what, focus distance? maybe?

Chris thanks for the advice, I'll try 1/250th next time, I've never really had a lot of faith in SR on either the K10D or K20D, it's unlikely to be faulty on both cameras. The Reds, yeah, what kind of speed are they doing? I tried to catch the cross-over repeatedly but failed miserably Needed a shorter lens and higher frame rate
Came away thinking:
A. I need more practice
B. I need a zoom lens
C. I need higher frame rate
4. I need faster transfer to the memory card
Good luck at Bournemouth Mike, I think I may try Southport if I've not already missed it

John

Excellent shots. The propellors could do with a bit more movement in them, but they're pretty good anyway!

Thanks. I have read reviews around it and it is fair to assume the images can be soft at the far end? Do you share any of these views?
Stop it down to f/8 or f/11 and it should be nice and sharp.

John
