Magnification is a major factor with shake. using Love View, just watch the vibration with ultra close up and long telephoto images. It needs a good 10 seconds to settle down.

This isn't an auction site - much better to just say how much you want and then see if someone offers that.

It hasn't rotated by itself but has been saved in that orientation. I wonder what software was used to prepare the image? If done in Photoshop and saved in the correct orientation then it would appear as such. If it has simply been viewed in some viewer then maybe the viewer used has not saved the rotation information when the image was closed.

If we're talking APS-C then the 40mm or 43mm both give superb results as an approximately 60mm/64.5mm lens. A long standard lens, especially considering many early fast standard lenses for full frame were 58mm.

For the K-1 full frame camera then the 43mm will be preferable as it is properly intended for full frame. Its only drawback is that there is no QuickShift facility.

I prefer the 43mm to the 50mm f/1.4 as it has more "character". It will be interesting to see how the new D-FA* 50mm f/1.4 works out.

The first thought is insurance. Is it covered?

Insured or not, the only way to be sure how to proceed is to send it in to a repair house for a repair quote.

Don't forget JRP offer 20% discount on servicing to PU Plus members - well worth joining to take advantage of that.

I've had quite a few of them and the one I've kept is the 43mm. It is light, fast and although not the sharpest in MTF tests it has a certain "quality" to it that can't really be defined in lines per mm.

There's nothing obvious from a Google search, so it may be defunct, unless somebody else knows differently?

I have found that a 1p coin is better than a 5p coin as it has sharper edges that give more grip.

To expand upon the brief for this week, I had in mind the joy of freedom of the open road, the image of the car whisking through the English countryside (or Scottish, or Welsh, or Arizona, or Thailand, or wherever else!) giving us the freedom to travel where we want, when we want. Add the goggles, gloves and open topped sports car to that image if you want to.....

But that's just my interpretation and it's also open to satanic images of thick pollution from badly filtered exhaust pipes, cities chocked with traffic fumes, and all the negative connotations of motoring.

Add to that a pristine car, gleaming in a showroom, the Sunday car washing routine, or anything else to do with the car and motoring.

So it really is open house on interpretation, over to you and please let's have lots of entries!

That eye really makes the shot, it really sings out at us.
