repair possible for DA*60-250 ?

Hi folks

I recently had the misfortune of my K5+DA*60-250 sliding off the sofa, as if in slow motion, and dropping nose first onto wooden floor. clunk.

The lens zoom mechanism is now completely jammed, won't turn at all.

Very annoying, especially as I am usually very careful with my kit. Still, I've had it 9 years I suppose

Anyone had any experience of a successful repair of this type of problem ?

The first thought is insurance. Is it covered?

Insured or not, the only way to be sure how to proceed is to send it in to a repair house for a repair quote.

In the end I had it replaced on home insurance, thanks for the tip on the discount.

Unfortunately with JPS having the receivers in the discount tip is no longer appropriate. I haven't heard yet what arrangements are being made over spares and service, but I guess it's in negotiation at the moment.
