SRS and Amazon have made their arrangements and are entitled to post, it isn't what we're talking about here.

Nobody doubts the good intentions, but the forum isn't the place to do this, especially if a "nominal fee" is involved. The caution about insurance is just in case, because not everybody is understanding and forgiving if things do go wrong. I've seen it happen between friends and it ain't pretty.

I know this isn't meant to be commercial, but we're not supposed to use the forum to advertise our own businesses, and what you're thinking of doing just might be regarded, certainly by HMRC, as a business. Tax issues aside, there's also a question of insurance - what happens if your conversion should go horribly wrong?

If you want to do this, the best way forward is probably to provide a link to your own website in your profile, which is what is suggested in the Terms of Use.

These are beautiful images, realised by a keen, artistic eye.

The lens has a position where it is shortened for more compact storage. Just click it out until it enters the place where zooming, and operation, can start. At least on Pentax Q lens does the same thing. It's intentional, not a fault.

We knew that the judge was only selecting a winner and would comment later. The choice of winner hasn't been made. messages have been sent to remind, but all we can do is wait. It's a bit late now for this week, so hopefully we will have a winner to set next week's competition. If not, someone else can judge.

We were having a great run of prompt competitions.

I would double check the batteries. Make sure they are clean and polish them with a soft cotton cloth. Don't touch the contacts or batteries with your fingers. Also, check the battery spring in the camera is still making good contact and bend it a little if not. Corrosion on the contacts should also be looked at.

Then make sure lenses are fully seated and clicked home, after which there is little else you can do.

Given the cost of servicing, buying a replacement is probably the most cost effective way of fixing an MV or MG.

Hope that helps!

It's big and heavy, but surprisingly well balanced on the K-1. If you cope with the 70-200mm or the 15-30mm then it shouldn't be too bad. Your gigging images will look fantastic!

There's no doubt in my mind that the new 50mm f/1.4 may be expensive, but it's worth it, delivering a whole new level of performance. Looking at it another way, it's almost as good as the Zeiss Otus and a third of the price.

If it can't be afforded, then the 43mm f/1.9 is another classy lens that has a certain "something" in its rendition.
