I'm happy too, there's a lot of great Pentax kit available, with some exciting stuff to follow in due course. The 70-200mm f/4 will definitely hook me and the 50mm f/1.4 is just a matter of time before I buy....there's only so many lenses I can buy/afford realistically.

But it's not a problem in any event; anyone who isn't happy has a lot of other stuff available to buy. But beware "the grass is greener" because generally it isn't. One niggle just gets swapped for a different one.

Activate "using aperture ring" in the camera menus. Then you will be able to use lenses with no "A" on their aperture ring, but in manual mode only.

Using lenses with an "A" on the aperture ring, basically any AF lens, plus the A series manual focus lenses, the camera will function more easily for you. You will get better results using newer lenses that most of the ones you list.

I would phone Chris at SRS and ask what the current status is. He'll be among the first to know I'm sure.

The point about watches is that any servicing that intends to maintain the water resistance usually requires the watch to be sent back to the manufacturer's facility.

The same has never been said of cameras, but with any independent repairer it could be reassuring to check. I would assume the official repairer wiould have that aspect covered.

PS If in doubt about anything, by all means ask by PM.

The most relevant sections are probably 3a to 3g, but all sections apply of course. It's pretty much a matter of commonsense.

The Amazon link is fine and quite intentional, as most of us probably thought.

Anything that needs reporting, please do that via the Report system. There is a Report Problem link at the bottom of every page. Spam doesn't generally need reporting as it gets picked up routinely, but any spam that's been there more than a day may have been missed, so fair enough to make a report then.

Well let's not get too bogged down by this, but there's no commercial pressure just pointing out that the forum rules are what they are, so we should keep within those boundaries.

I am puzzled because there are no "site sponsor members" on PU and I have no idea what South American river is being referred to. If there's something somewhere that shouldn't be, then please make a report and we'll zap it accordingly. I'm going to have a look now, but if I don't spot it then do please explain.

Also, the origins of PU don't exactly spring from EPZ, it's a bit different to that. PU stems from the PU Club that was taken on by Peter Bargh and Magezine Publishing (who publish EPZ) and was an added service to the printed magazine.

Anyway, we digress.
