Excellent. The overall standard must have been very high.

Yes, well done! Can we see the pictures?

The FF lenses are fine when used on the APS-C bodies. They are not even overly large in most cases.

Any lens can be used for portraits, depending on the type of portrait that we want.

However, for a realistic and flattering result the preferred length would be a fast (bright) short telephoto. On full frame that would be 85mm (the classic portrait lens), 100mm (my favourite choice) or 135mm (getting a little long).

Thanks, I've made an offer on that. It sounds like it will want a good deal of renovation inside, but the exterior looks acceptable.

The most useful and effective compact I've found is the Pentax MX-1. The quality is excellent and it is easy to operate under all sorts of difficult conditions. Plus it has the familiar Pentax ways of working. If you prefer interchangeable lenses, then the Q-S1 is terrific and uses a similar, if not the same, sensor. It too produces superb results.

Maybe not available new, unless you are very lucky to find one somewhere, but easily obtainable second hand in mint condition.

We ordered two, one for me and one for Sue. At £3.99 each including first class postage it's hard to see where we can go wrong.

It's also a Pentax/Ricoh branded item, not just a bag with Pentax written on it.

Do we need another bag? Probably not, but I like these odd manufacturer's bag offerings. I'm still on the lookout for a Speedbag M and a Speedbag (Std, not M) plus the large leather outfit case from the 1970s/1980s.
A Google search of the Speedbag shows you've been searching for it for 13 years
Only 13 years? My, how time flies!

Gorgeous, stunning images! It's a fantastic part of the country, full of great opportunities and never too crowded.

You obviously love the area Bill and it shines through in the images.

The only thing that stops me buying an 08 is the price.
