The forum needs more than 2 letters to complete a search. I think it might be four.

Happy New Year to everyone!

In 2020 I'm hoping to see the arrival of the 70-200mm f/4 lens. What can Pentax do to secure your Happy New Pentax Year?

I would choose a lightweight Pentax APS-C DSLR and whatever lenses were appropriate. For an all-in-one solution the 18-270mm might go nicely.

Quality will be better and exposures more realistic in darker conditions.

Moving into 2020 does have one advantage - that is, we enter "the twenties" so I feel we know what to call the decade. "The noughties" or "the tens" doesn't sound right, but "the twenties", roaring or otherwise, sounds just right!

And beyond into 2020, very best wishes to all and I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and New Year.

Photography won't be forgotten, and the Pentax MX-1 in particular is primed and ready to record whatever happens. We do plan on getting out and about, so the K-1 kit will get an airing as well.

What are your plans?

The aroma of freshly baked bread, cut into thick slices and copiously buttered.......yum yum!

Lithium batteries are only good for a limited number of recharge cycles - I have seen 1000 mooted elsewhere. The deterioration is slow and steady over their lifetime, but in the end they will need replacing.

I have seen figures for electric car batteries, where the same thing applies.

We regularly replace SD cards, as file sizes have become bigger we've moved from 1GB cards to 16BB or 32GB on our journey since the *istDS. Only one became a problem, not reading in one K-5 but reading in another K-5. Images were downloaded and the card discarded.

The cost is very low to keep up replacements every couple of years, but they are only used for short term storage and always formatted when re-used. so problems have been few and far between.

There's a Gallery you can post to, or into the forum if you prefer. Or ePHOTOzine, the sister site to this one, is also a great place to post images.
