Coronavirus has closed some of the Ricoh factories, along with all the other manufacturers, so even as they get back to work the flow of products has slowed right down.

I think it was Canon who were explaining that a lot of parts were sourced from China, so it will take time.

Perhaps a local repairer could do the obvious and try to remove the bit of plastic that's causing a problem, rather than simply replacing the whole slot? There is one in Liverpool - Newton Ellis and Co., 29 Cheapside, L2 2DY. 0151 236 1391

They have done some good work for me in the past and at a realistic cost.

It's probably a bit simplistic to lay blame in that sort of way. We're all human beings and we're all suffering the same problems, regardless of how it started, which in itself is unclear in any confirmed way.

I'm aiming on the idea that we all pull together and support each other and hopefully look to getting back to normal as soon as possible.

I used to have one of these, a long time ago, and it was a great lens.

We just leave them be and they complete the record of a successful transaction.
