It does strike me that if the JPEG capture is what you are trying to emulate, then why not just shoot in JPEG and get that without any further effort being needed? If you want a warmer/cooler tone then that can be done via WB settings. There are also lots of digital effects available.

The only difference is that you would need to choose what look you are seeking up-front and not afterwards. Although quite a range of adjustment is still possible with an in-camera JPEG. It can even be opended in a RAW converter if that helps.

We're straying a bit here from Pentax photography and we do try to avoid Politics and Religion on this site. Those are the sort of things that rouse strong emotions and can cause a lot of conflict on a forum, which is why we don't do them.

Don't forget we have a nice, warm Pointless Thread for anything off topic, but still no Politics or Religion.....

Meanwhile, stay safe everyone.

Some of those shots are absolutely magnificent. They are all evocative expression of the utter, vital isolation of the environment without the presence of mankind. It's the sort of thing I would soon find oppressive, being so far and detached from civilisation, but for a while it could be positively therapeutic.

How do you feel when you are in these places?

I'll be happy to give them a good home if there are no other takers. If you want to send me a PM we can organise the details.

It would be useful to know which part of the country you were in Julie.

I was under the impression that the K mount was more expensive to manufacture because of the mechanical linkages. I suppose as we move to KAF4 this might no longer be an issue.

Other independent manufacturers such as Irix and Laowa and others always seem to include a K mount option. Some of these lenses are superb. Some are also very innovative, so it's worth checking out.
