I like the 2nd crop of the pier and cannon, not for the centred look as much, but because the streaks of cloud / contrails in the sky drew my eye away from the vanishing point created by the pier. Mind you, it could be removed fairly easily with clone / heal etc in any of the popular apps (with RAW or jpgs). That way, the 'big' sky could be reintroduced if you wished.

Still 39 degreees C at 9 pm or thereabouts - after a top of about 43 C today in Melbourne, Australia...

But all is not lost - if we're lucky it might cool down to 30 C tonight

Nasty business with icy roads in Europe though - at least the tyres here stick to the roads pretty well

I also have PSE 6, and it gets less work than LR3.

The latter is available free as a beta release (a Google search will get you to the download), but expires in a month or three. If you shoot RAW (highly recommended), then it is not a bad way to go, although you may already be using Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), which is sort of similar to Lightroom, as the front end of PSE6 if you shoot in RAW yourself.

PS - I don't have shares in Adobe, and I don't work for them or any other software or imaging co., so this is not a promotion - just my personal preference for post-processing my own images.

Click on the thumbnail image for the gallery called 'Outdoors'.

Yours is the last image there - and it has your name on it of course.

I am experiencing some difficulties in embedding links and images into threads (in the Your Photos forum here at present).

I started a thread titled 'Gold Mining Relics' in that forum, and if you follow that through, you will see what I mean - one image 'sticks' to the message, and is visible, the other images in the same message thread (from the same processing batch, and the same gallery at PBase) do not. Other members here have been assisting (thank you gents) and we cannot seem to crack the nut as it were.

Ditto another thread in the Your Photos Forum, to which I wished to contribute an image. I could not embed it, and tried to link to it instead. Another member reports he cannot access that photo via the link (gets an Access Forbidden message). The thread in question is called 'New type of snow flower'. Again, if you were to follow it to my post, you will see what's occurred.

You will also see that there is some inconsistency as to what has been happening - images in my posts here disappear and reappear with little rhyme or reason.

I have checked those settings available to me as a pbase account holder (it is a paid account, not a trial one). All settings available to me are benign, and are not such that they would lead to a denial of access to the members here.

The galleries within my Pbase account from which I have sought to link and embed are not password protected.

I'd be pleased if you were to consider any solution that might be available? Thanks in advance.
