Gold Mining Relics...

... from central Victoria (Oz), c.1800s. Taken yesterday en route home. Interesting is that the technology is very similar to the small copper mine smelting plants that can be found in South Australia, Flinders Ranges area. They were Cornish miners there, and used local stone instead of bricks. The similarities nonetheless remain

furnace chimney - similar to some others in the area...

Thanks for looking Steve, glad you found the gallery too. Not sure what happened to the images on the post here though - all done the same way from the same place? : I now cannot see the first ones either...
Will fix, stay tuned.

Greytop, thoughton, Weldingblues, and PentaxRocks,

Apologies unsure as to what occurred, but will re-post the ones with faulty links here.

Coming up below!

And lo and behold, the ones in the OP now appear to work as well (at least, they do in preview mode)... Ah the mysteries of technology

the best laid plans...
They aren't displaying for me now either, but did before on two re-visits.

OK - suggestion time: given the linking to images was the same throughout, are there any wiser heads with ideas please? Are there any site issues that may cause this? Or 'undocumented features' with pbase perhaps? What strikes me is that one of the four images has successfully linked and displayed from the start...

Ideas welcome.

It's something to do with the way you are enclosing them in the IMG tag. The images work, if I right-click one of your 'broken link' symbols and choose 'Open link in new window' I can see it.

The way it works for me is I paste the direct jpeg link (e.g. http://blahblah.blah.com/blahblah.jpg), highlight everything from 'http' to 'jpg', then click the 'Image' button. That should do it. Are you sure there isn't a stray space or something in the broken ones? Or you didn't click the 'Link' button instead of the 'Image' button?

Edit: When I previewed this one of these images didn't show up, so it might also be a pbase issue...

They don't seem to work reliably. Could it be that pbase doesn't allow hotlinking?
