Hi Everyone

I'm off to the Lake District for a week tomorrow, will be staying in Grasmere with family but I hope to get plenty of shooting time. Unfortunately I'm not particularly familiar with the area so I wondered if I could ask if anyone has any advice for interesting shooting locations etc.

thanks in advance.

Andy

I was very jealous of the photographers who took these, would so love to visit all of them. Shame there was nothing in the UK

I had the Yongnuo RF-603 triggers (the canon variant) and while they were adequate they soon showed signs of the their "bargain basement" status. One of the pins in the sync port that connected to sync cable I needed for my studio flashes broke off quite quickly and they would only work reliably up to 1/160 sync speed. To get them working at 1/180 max sync speed of the K5 you had to half depress the button on the top etc.

I ended replacing them with these :

They only cost £16 more but are way way better, very good build quality, better range, work flawlessly at all sync speeds come with a all the cables and plugs you might need and a nice little case too. Head and shoulders above the Yongnuo IMHO!

Not sure what they guy in the middle of John's first photo is, but he's a complete star.

I was chatting to him on Monday at the show and decided to show him a problem I had with my FA77mm. It had a very small mark (which looked like a chip in the glass to me) what I had assumed was under the glass. He spent quite a lot of time looking at it using a lens off the display as a magnifying glass and came to the conclusion that it was some sort of deposit on the front of the glass. He then tried all the things I had done such as using a lens pen and cloth to remove it before using a cloth, water and elbow grease which totally removed it.

I came away a very happy man, one of my best lenses was not indeed broken as I had suspected and I didn't have to send it away to be looked at.

Worth the entrance price alone.
