I agree Michael, the Q10 is a very solid feeling camera and doesn't feel plastic at all.. I have the original Q also and if I didn't know then I'm not sure I'd spot the difference.

My main problem with it is that, very unfairly, I compare the results to my K3 and it obviously looks disappointing. I know it's not a sensible comparison, but if I get home load up the pics and think "I wish I'd taken the K3" then I wonder if I'll ever be satisfied.

On the other hand, there is no doubt I'll take this more places then the K3, for example these shots on Sunday. It was a dull day, crap light, and I've been there many times so there is no way I'd have taken the K3 and Lenses. Also, even if I had I doubt I would have taken the shots I did. The Q cameras definitely encourages experimentation and it was fun to shoot with.

I'm certainly gonna give it more time.

Recently purchased the Q10 from SRS with their excellent deal, also picked up an 06 zoom. These are a few from my first real play with it this morning. Nothing that will set the world on fire, and to be honest I'm not sure about the camera yet.

She seems very pleased with her new K-50, especially since it was bright RED !! We had a quick trip to Flamborough lighthouse on Saturday afternoon but it was a very grey day so not great shots. I installed Lightroom on her laptop so she's fully setup now and processing RAW files...

She even asked about joining this forum lol

Will be heading off the SRS in the next hour or so to pick up a new, bright red, K-50 with twin lens kit for my daughters 16th birthday. She secured a place at UTC college and wants to follow a career in photography/film making and I'm very proud of her.

I seem to have a complete Pentax Family now :

- I shoot with a K3
- My girlfriend has a K-R but uses my old K-5 now.
- Her son (16) has my old K200D
- My son (11) has a Q and uses that when we go on little photography trips
- My daughter (now 16, gulp) will have her new K-50 today to replace an old K100Super.

I get the feeling I'll the lens I want will never be available in the future

looks great to me, when's it due to go live ?
