Nice ones there, Cliff and John. I like the ones of "71000" and the tank engine.

Glad the rain kept off. Hope your K5's performed as you wanted.

Cheers,

Howard

Like these, lovely colours in 2 & 3. How far down the steps did you go?
South Stack is one of my favourite places, even in a cold south westerly wind. We were there just after Christmas but for once didn't take any shots.

Howard

I'm sorry it's taken me a while to respond but I've had to spend extended time in North Wales with my sick, 101 yr old father. Thank you all for your excellent advice, it is much appreciated. I shall have to think about it but not too long in case I get caught with a flat battery.

Cheers,

Howard

Advice please, what is the best battery to buy as a second battery for the K5. Also where is the best place to get them? I've seen on ebay on offer for £9:00 approx. Does anybody know if they're any good?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Howard

Took the words out of my mouth.

I did try one at iso3200 as well.

Must try harder is the phrase they used on my school report

I've not tried to install the software yet. Both these images were jpegs more or less straight out of the camera. Must say I'm impressed with it's high iso capabilities.

So far I'm glad I made the decision to go for the K5.

I too like the third, I hope I can get as good out of my new toy as these.

Sorry Cliff, I'm going to hijack your thread rather than start a new one on the same subject. Hope you don't mind. This is my first real effort with the K5 and 55-300. Taken through the window, the K10 would not have given me anything. I'll be looking to you for some hints.

It's a lot camera to get to know, currently all my settings are on default except for centre focus.

Howard

hmmmmm I so much would love to have one as well - I am now in this awfull conflict zone of, should I safe money and get one or should I wait for a possible K3 (although I only heard rumors about it).
From what I saw about K5, this must be a VERY desireable camera body - I am sure you will have lots of fun with it
Hi Axel,

As I said I had a long debate with myself as to buy or not and I decided to go ahead. Saying that when I bought the K10 they brought out the K20 within months. I don't think you can win!!! By the way like your web site.

To set the record straight, and in case she reads this, the above should read ".... from ...."

To everybody else I'm sure I shall enjoy using the K5 once I've mastered the basic controls.

Cliff, I've downloaded the cashback form so will complete it as soon as I get the camera. Look forward to comparing notes. The third person I assume is John941.

Cheers all,

Howard

Finally after a lot of soul searching, and ignoring the "issues", and persuasion for my boss lady I've bought a K5 from SRS. I hope I get the paperwork in time to claim the £90 cashback, they had a backlog yesterday when I spoke to them.

Hopefully I won't have to think of upgrading for many years. My K10 has served me well.

Cheers,

Howard

It was nearly a disaster trying to get that image Stuey! as I lay on my side in the grass eyeing up the shot I caught a very strong whiff of you know what!! missed it by inches thank god.

Thanks for looking.
Hope it wasn't your own dog's

Like these. I like No. 5, what is it? But I might have cloned out the three bright spots.

Cheers,

Howard
