I went in June 2009 with Billy Shiels, it was a great experience, I'd love to go back. One drawback - not enough time on the island. Here is a link to some of my images from that visit -

https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/one-from-the-farne-islands-13351/p-0#comm_132202

and this is the advice I got when I asked a similar question

As Gwyn says - look forward to seeing your photos.

Hope that helps.

Agree with Gwyn on all the above plus

Llanddwyn beach and island.
14/15 century St Cybi's Church in Holyhead inside the the romman fort, it should be open for the cruise ship visit.
The breakwater in Holyhead (longest in the UK)
Views from the top of the Marquess of Anglesey column.
Try this for suggestions -

If you are in or near Holyhead on Saturday the largest ship ever to dock in Holyhead is in the harbour. Can be viewed from Newry Beach or the breakwater.

How about Llanfair PG station. (mind the coach loads of tourists)

Have fun. Look forward to seeing images of my home town (alas no blue plaque yet!!!).

That ignores the 'tan' which means below, so literally 'the big house below the pass'.
Sorry Andrew.

PS - Do you know what the name translates to, and how it would be pronounced?
Sorry to butt in, Andrew,

Literal translation is "Palace(or mansion) of the gap/pass"

as for pronounciation "bwlch" - "bull" + "ch" as in loch, will get you reasonably near.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Howard

PS

i-Berg did you know that Melbourne has a Welsh Society and a Welsh male Voice choir?

Lovely set, Andrew, as always. Somewhere where I've never been.

Is the fly past definitely in Manchester? If so I'll do my utmost to get there.

No offence taken. Nice to know that they still speak it there.

Thank you, Davex. I saw it coming in over Knutsford on her last flight and I can't find the photographs, or the negatives, that I took Interesting shot of inside the hanger, thanks.

Cheers,

I'm going to speak to my 99 year old father now, in Welsh of course. Just thought I'd let you know.

Bye.
