Interesting set. 2 and 5 are my favourites.
My family has links to another slate town in North Wales - Bethesda, home of the Penrhyn slate quarry.
Blanche one of the engines on the Ffestiniog railway comes from there. As kids we would play along the old railway track and the upper galleries of the quarry.

Lovely series especially the tractor one. Not so keen on the two sheds in colour, probably because of the blank featureless sky.

Thanks folks. Some of these were taken one handed under a golfing umbrella it was raining that hard. But, as Colin notes, it often does rain up in the mountains. Really I could spend hours in and around the town. There's scope for so much more photography. Even street photography.
There was some discussion on this site a few months ago, when Emma was thinking of going to Wales for a short break, about whether Wales was another country. On a wet afternoon with the clouds right down low and the locals speaking a foreign tongue, it certainly feels like one!
Gwyn - lovely memories. Son William tells me there may be moves to get part of the Penryn quarry railway working again.

Thanks Gareth, but there again, you woud be biased. Thought of you whilst we were there. A magical weekend!
Never been to the distillery, though.
In point of fact it rained for about four hours in three days so that's not bad and the weather on Saturday was better up there than down south!

No. 4 is my favourite, 5 is interesting too. Was that your caravan::: It's a long, long time since I've been there, must try and get there again sometime, it looks very photogenic. Did you go to Llechwedd whilst in the area?

P.S. Isn't that caravan amazing?
No, we went past Llewedd (they were open). This was just up the road from the caverns.
I do know of a relatively recently closed quarry with lots of intact machinery and wonderfu atmospheric buildings. But all my pictures were taken with a Ricoh R7 before the lady wife treated me to my K100.
