I use an Asahiflex 50mm lens with the 37 to M42 adapter.

The adapter is or was available on Ebay.

The light leak is not the fault of the 37 mm adapter,
There are 2 reasons, why the light leaks.

1.) the 42mm to K adapter has 2 slots on the side, to be able to remove it again.
2.)This does not matter with the Takumar or similar lenses, But the Asahiflex lens has a smaller back and does not cover the the adapter completely.
I fitted a black rubber or Neopreen ring on to the back of the lens. This fixed the problem.

The50mm Asahiflex lenses are well made and very sharp, due to its Tessar copy design.

I am really interested in The K1, because I am 100% for FF.

However the price is still a bit steep for me. i like to wait for a more simplified model which should cost less.
i am definitely not interested in Wi-fi, Dual SD cards GPS etc and all the extra gimmicks.

All I want is an equivalent of the K5 in a FF version. I am sure Pentax (Rico) will release something similar in time.

My main interest is a simplified FF version..

By the way, all I ever use with my K5's are the AV, Manual and B settings.

I Bought this lens on Ebay. I like to play around with various types of lenses.
The lens has a 37mm thread . I managed to get a 37-42mm adapter ring and also fitted the screw to bayonet adapter.
The lens is about vintage 1950 onward. one of the earliest Takumar lenses I think it is a 4 element Tessar design. But I may be corrected on this.
I use it with a Voightlander Lens hood from a Vito B camera.

The following are 3 pictures of the lens itself.
The next picture is a landscape from Lake Eildon in Victoria where I was camping.
Th following shows how sharp this lens can. it shows the huts and shacks and my Toyota
where I stayed. and the last one is a close up picture of some wood.

I could not find anything negative with the performance of this lens.

Here is the result of setting my K5 to neutral.
The lens was my 35mm DA f2.8 LTD. with a soft filter on front.

The oranges are orange again. This is the exact colour the rose was.

I had this problem for about a week and it was quite absenting. I thought I need to send the camera in for repair. However having a vague idea of the repair cost, I decided to sell a test instrument I didn't need anymore for a good (for the buyer) price on Ebay and then bought another K5 but this time a K5II also on Ebay from Japan.
I may have been a bit hasty, But on the other hand, It didn't really cost me anything and now I have a spare camera in case something happens again.
What I will most probably do, is to fit a M42 to K adapter and use it for my screw mount lenses.

All filters are out. (No filters)
Here are a couple of pictures. The first one was with the green setting and the yellow is perfect .The other with the SV setting and now its red.

Hi, Suddenly My K5 Seem to have lost the oranges and yellows . The yellows and oranges show up as a purple-red colour. Also it underexposes somewhat, Possibly because the yellows are missing.

I checked all the settings WB, filters etc. I also reloaded the software.

Yo may think that the sensor has a problem, But:

It doesn't happen when the camera is set to green mode. Then everything is ok.

On any other setting AV, TAV etc it has this problem.

Did any of you encountered a similar phenomena, or is my a first?
