I initially bought my DA12-24 specifically for interior shots and couldn't be happier. I've never used the Sigma but I spent a lot of time looking at images from both before stumping up my money and decided in the end that the Pentax lens was worth the extra cash. Not once regretted my decision.

The Tamron wasn't available at that time so I haven't looked at it as closely, but I'd be suprised if it did a better job than the Pentax. I'm happy to be proved wrong though...

I think these will sell like hot cakes (not to me, but they'll find buyers).

So that just leaves Pentax, Canon and Nikon holding out against a mirrorless format now - who'll be the first to break ranks?

****BUMP FROM PAGE XXXX****

I'd forgotten about this, hence it still hasn't made it onto eBay.

I'm still asking £80 + p&p but now I'll throw in a (3rd party) M42->K adapter - everything you need to get started using this on your DSLR!

So that's a fast 300mm f/4.5 telephoto lens, a 58mm f/2 portrait lens, an unused as-new film camera plus fitted case, filters, etc for a mere 80 quid! Bargain!!!

Go to "My Settings" from the box in the top right of this page and then click on "Profile Information" (the middle tab). You should see the second box down is for your signature - just fill this in and it will appear at the bottom every time you post.

Me too!

I only have two screwmount bodies and they're of a similar vintage; my Spotmatic bearing a green R and my S1a bearing an orange R. I do own an early 50/1.4 so I've resisted using it on the Spotty just in case...

I also love the first Pentax beauty line up image.
Sssshhhh! Don't tell anyone but that shot (and all the shots *of* the lenses) was taken with the GRD - my camera of choice for eBay etc.

Before I looked at the images, I was expecting to like the FA43 ones the best, as it's one of my favourite lenses.

However having done so, I've got to reluctantly admit I prefer the Super Tak images
It suprised me too! The FA43 still rules for landscape work where you want Ansel Adams style sharpness all over, but for general work the nifty 50's are very hard to beat and the Super-Tak turned out some of the best photos during my day in the woods.

I actually ran a roll of film through both the Spotmatic and the S1a yesterday and stuck to the two Taks exclusively. I'll be down at SnappySnaps tomorrow so I can see how they've done on film too.

Coincidentally, I bought a Paterson lens testing chart, this morning. So, I'm looking forward to doing a bit of resolution testing, myself.
I expect to see the results in full posted here first then.

Good choice. As an all-round lens it's hard to beat and it's great value for money too.

I'd probably look to European shops too. Here in the UK B+W are rare and expensive beasts, on the mainland they're more commonplace and similar in price to Hoya.

Now if I ever get my time machine finished I'll go back and purchase a few 85's and 135's.
Not if I get there first!
