acht well... doesn't matter anyway. You were right. Both the Pentax and Tamron lenses were 50mm (i'll post more about them tonight) and they had 49mm UV filters screwed onto the front (doh! - please remember i'm new to this). They don't work with the K20d though... booooooo.
If they worked on an older Pentax camera then they should work on the K20D. If they're older (pre-A series) lenses then you'll need to set "Use Of Aperture Ring" to "Permitted" in your K20D's Custom Menu. Once you've done this then you can set the aperture on the lenses themselves and meter using the green button on the camera. Manual (M) and Aperture Priority (Av) modes only.

Not as convenient as modern auto-everything lenses it's true, but some old lenses are capable of stunning results so worth persevering with!

Has the 110 brochure got the case in it? I've never seen another one and wondered if mine was the one and only!

So only cable release remotes have 'half-press' (2-stages) and 'lock' options?
Yes. And they don't require a line of sight. Or batteries. And they're usually cheaper.

Probably a lens with a 49mm filter thread - easy mistake to make and 49mm is a common size with Pentax lenses.

I'm liking the quality of the 18-55 Mk1, but I dislike the stiff 'jerky' operation of the zoom ring. Have I just got a dog or are they all like that? It would possibly be fair to add that I tend to judge lens handling by all my old metal lenses that are smooth and gorgeous by comparison. Yes, gorgeous is a technical term
No one will ever compare the zoom and focus rings on a DA18-55 to buttered silk it's true, but although I find the zoom ring a little jerky I think the focus ring is fairly good, albeit a little "dry" feeling with little feedback. Still, for the money...

For what it is (a cheap kit lens) the Mk1 is remarkably good! I haven't tried the Mk2 but I'm sure it's just as (if not more) capable. Every camera bag should have a DA18-55 in there somewhere...

I'm going to hold off on contacting them - seems you get a different answer depending on who you talk to anyway.

It's the element of suprise that appeals!

Hello Spencer and welcome to the forum - believe it or not, even with a DSLR Photoshopping is optional! Getting things right "in camera" is a worthy skill to have.
