Anyone remember these? There were quite a few more including Sam Haskins' and David Bailey's.

Drat I knew I shouldn't have thrown all them old mags away 9.95 USD for each add. I remember the Bailey one that showed a battered black ES with all the brass showing.

The first SH camera I bought whilst still at school was the Aires Reflex link very bright viewfinder.... and so it should be because it didn't have a screen inside I thought it was easy to focus only to find that I wasted a few rolls of film before I realised that non of my shots were in focus, because you can't focus on an aerial image Absolute crap....

I like the way it says in the add "Just a step away from the costly reflexes".... doesn't tell you that the step is a viewfinder screen ;-(

I came across a site several years ago that had a collection of adverts on, but I can't remember where it was!!!!

Still, I remember the Spike advert, I was and still am a fan of his.

The beloved Spotmatic!

I pick mine up every once in a while, and they were right! Still are!

And check out that 1:1.4 Super Takumar! That's GLASS! (And class). Or is it a 1:1.2!?!

It might be nice to have a thread just for posting Pentax adverts

You are so right, Mac. I have one on a shelf and I just have to handle it every so often - it feels so right.

I want to use my Spotmatic and make sure I got the light seals sorted, but the weather has been justStill I can wait.

For some reason the keyboard won't type

Done it again!

Just let me get back to solid, reliable technology. One that doesn't crash and loose months of pictures (other thread)

In M42 mount for a Spotmatic, it'll be a 1:1.4, the M42 mount is too small to allow 1:1.2 50mm lenses. Sorry, my geek is showing, I'll get my coat.....
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

Sorry, my geek is showing, I'll get my coat.....[/quote]Not at all, Mongoose!

I have the famous yellow monster 1.4, and you're perfectly correct, the 1.2 only came out in K Mount.

I should have known that!

Hang on, I'll come with you....

There were a few f1.2 lenses produced for M42, but none by Pentax

Search the M42 lens database to see what I mean.

Does that make me a geek as well
