I use the Cokin P wide angle holder on my 12-24 and find it's only barely noticeable at 12mm and disappears after 13. But then I don't use *any* UV filter on the front so maybe you need to use one or the other but not both?

Amin, let me be the first to say, "try and see"!

Bear in mind that the word "photography" literally means "painting with light".

Light is the single most important aspect of photography and different types of lights will produce different effects. There's no right or wrong way of lighting a subject, just different ones. Experimentation is something we all have to do when we first pick up a camera before we can define our own "look" - there's still no substitute for practice, practice, practice so have a go under your halogens.

Try varying their intensity of the light, the angle they hit the subject, the angle to the camera, etc; if they swivel right round then have a go at bouncing the light off walls in order to soften (diffuse) it and keep fiddling until you hit upon something you think looks good.

It'll all come to you in the end.

Well I'm a bit jealous of the fly Clarky - seems like forever since we had insects in the garden, and with the snow lingering it might be quite a while longer before we do again.

Lovely shots as ever though.

Nothing wrong with your focussing skills that I can see!

All great shots but the rhino really stands out for me, love the framing.

Hi Streiflicht and welcome to the forum! Isn't a 50th birthday a good excuse to treat yourself to a new lens or two?

I only came to the MX party last year and I have to say I'm very pleased I did! Lovely camera to use and there's something about all-mechanical designs that inspires faith in their longevity, like a well-made Swiss watch

If you put it up for worldwide shipping then you'll probably get all you paid for it back - with the current weak £ possibly even a little more. I'm finding overseas buyers are now paying around 25-30% more for items than they were this time last year simply because stuff priced in sterling is such a bargain for them right now.

The "credit crunch" had to have some side benefits...
