Thanks for the nice welcome. Hoping to pick up some good tips etc. And hopefully post some pics too (if they are not too embarrassing).
The nice chap in LCE pointed me in the direction of Ebay as i would get a better deal than from LCE. Gave me some pointers, said he was a K20D owner himself. So a very nice chap indeed.
Regards
Russ

Hi all,
Thought i would say hello. Been lurking about for a few months as a non member while i weighed up my camera purchase. Pentax won, so i thought it would be a good idea to join up now.
Been a DSLR owner since 2003. First with a 300D, then briefly (2 weeks) with Minolta 5D and then a Nikon D50. All bottom end cameras. As an astrophotographer i never bought into any lens system, just the body and kit lens. Hence why i've been free to move between brands.
Decided to leave the astro stuff alone for a while now and instead concentrate on learning some daytime photography skills. Want to specialise mainly on cars/aircraft. Plus some macro/nature in the backgarden.
Original plan was either Pentax K-m or the Sony A200. I can't afford fancy IS or VR lenses, so ruled out another Canon or Nikon. The nice chap in London Camera Exchange tipped me off about the K10D and what a great deal it was. And how right he was! Feel like i have a camera that is a proper step up from the 300D/D50, where as (no offence to any K-m owners) the K-m in my mind seemed a side step from the D50. Can't afford any fancy lenses, so just have the kit lens and Tamron 70-300. Will add the Pentax 50mm f1.4 prime asap.
Sorry for the long blown out intro.
Regards
Russ
