I don't have one but a friend of mine does and he got it from Park Cameras. If you don't want to start cutting up the Pentax grip I'd suggest putting it on eBay where you'll probably get most of your money back for it and then buy the genuine Samsung one from Park.

Do people use the clean on switch-on option?
Yes, always.

And I've never used anything stronger than a rocket blower - works a treat.

Macro focussing is never easy; the greater the magnification, the smaller the depth of field becomes - sometimes measured in fractions of a millimeter.

This isn't indicative of a fault in your equipment, you're just running up against the Laws of Physics here.

Have a look at this old thread to see what a challenge macro work can be.

As well as offering more features, and finer adjustability, I find the proper Silkypix program far more enjoyable to use thann Photo Lab, and quicker too once you've got the hang of it. That alone makes it worth the $150, IMO. It's one of my all-time favourite software programs of any sort.
I'm just tight fisted, hence the free PPL will do for me.

I'm still wringing my money out of Photoshop 5 after all!

Jessops by any chance?

If so I'd put a year's wages on Pentax outliving them by a long margin.

Short answer: yes.
Thanks Pentaxian

This way I know at least that I haven't messed anything with the settings and its all how it should be.

just wondering why the SR goes off, I know there must be a reason but with my limited experience in the field I fail to discover why.

thanks for your help

Amin
Because when you take a flash photo the shutter speed is fixed at 1/180 seconds (physically) but is - to all intents and purposes - the duration of the flash burst, that's around 1/30,000(?) seconds. At that sort of speed the shake reduction is completely redundant.
