Press the "MENU" button, go to the second item down ("Digital Filter") and make sure it's turned Off.

Sounds to me like one of the arty filters has been left on. If none of these suggestions work or you don't understand then ask again.

I like the second one 'cos he looks like he's being approached by a miniature Victorian Robocop

I think the masonry facing front is too light - I love the cameo in the middle but the grey wall around it is just ugly imo.

I don't think I'd crop it any differently but I'd darken the wall to the point where it was more like a silhouette frame to the central area. The HDR has done a really good job on the "interior"

Either Hertfordshire was living under a different weather system to its Western neighbour, or this wasn't taken today!

Nice composition though, was this HDR?

I don't know the names of all the corners at Bathurst but yes, that's the one I mean Clarky

Quite a long trek for Stefan if it was Bathurst though...

I too would crop the second one but slightly differently:

I like numbers 3 and 4 exactly as they were originally posted - the blue casts make them for me even if they aren't strictly "true to life". The orange is fantastic too

Not so keen on number 2, nothing to really grab my attention with too many different types of pattern clashing.

Number 1's my favourite though because it looks like a troop of snowmen walking into the distance and it makes me smile.

Great photo! Which circuit is this Stefan? The camber going into the bend as it comes downhill looks almost like something you'd see at Bathurst, but I'm guessing it's not there.

Bit of both; a K7 withot the grip (£849 - £30 - £50 = £769) and a Tesco Value TV (£320) as a stand-in for now to keep the peace.

If it's for web use (like eBay) then it's hard to fault the DA18-55, assuming you're using flash that is. You tend to stop down to about f/8-f/11 anyway so you don't need fast lenses, it'll focus pretty close and it's a flexible focal length for when you're shooting several angles in quick succession.

For more arty stuff (like big prints) then the DA35 is The Guv'nor IMHO.
