Don't forget to claim the cash back from Pentax, that's another £50 off the price.

A lot of what makes the final picture shine is in the quality of the lenses and this happens to be Pentax's strongest suit
New lenses are on a par with Sonys, so no cost saving there.
When it comes to bodies, look how many members are still using *ist D models, a long obsolete (!) range.
Try what you like out but buy what feels right.
After all most whistles and bells on cameras never get used!
Oh yes! I've a K200d and love it.

I'm sitting inside 'cause it's cold, frosty and horrible outside.
And I've just been told to start wrapping the Xmas pressies!
Nice photo's though, glad you had a good time and look forward to seeing more of the South Pacific.

They invariable have usefull info burried deep inside, but only read if you have too!
My most precious items have no manuals included, you just learn on the job as a parent!

At least you can buy a film and not feel guilty!!!
I allways use a card reader, too many cables cause confusion, my daughter keeps unplugging them and I sometimes loose them!
Still a spare card in the bag is always an option!

also picked up a Pentax A 50mm f1.7, altough i am having some problems focusing the 50mm (eyes ain't what they used to be).
Any advice on a good auto focus portrait lens, which i could also use as a general walkabout, would be appreciated.
Have about £200 to spend
Thanks
As I posted before on another thread
If you leave the body in autofocus mode, hold the shutter button fully down, then slowly focus through your chosen point, the camera will take the shot at the optimum moment.
That's a simple starter trick until you get used to focusing by eye.
Hope this helps with the 50mm lens.

I now make a point of replacing the card as soon as I've finished downloading.
As for today....
Left ALL the cameras at home only to be greated by sunshine and frost when we got over the hill into North Yorks, Bugger!
