No doubt by tweaking and fiddling in PS or the like it could be turned into something respectfull.
But that wouldn't be a true memory!
Or would it?

However, in my view it is often necessary to do a bit more than cropping - cameras are not perfect, and some adjustment to sharpening, contrast and colour are usually required to get the image as close as possible to WHAT YOU SAW.

But in the wet conditions wearing my glasses it's what I saw.
Should I scrap it or be proud?
Or should I change that memory into something false? :

Personally I only crop my images. The need for anything else on most of my shots means I didn't get it right in the first place.

You won't see a difference between the two 18-55 lenses.
More difficult was to see any difference between the 18-55 II and my 16-45. So I replaced the 16-45 with a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 to get something substantially different and better from the 18-55.
At this resolution the improvement is not noticable.

and engine sizes, why are they cubic INCHES in the US, but every where else uses fractions of liters?
And a liter isn't 1000cc now it's 1000cm3, who came up with that one?
Sod this I'm off for a liter of ale and a pound of Chocolate!!!

It's ridiculous. I for one, don't want my beer served in half litre glasses. I want a full Pint !

Our North American cousins do not use them - they use US standard sizes,

Much of what I personally do in Photoshop I used to do in the darkroom, or sometimes even with a pair of scissors. Combining images, making fake reflections, putting in dramatic skies and so on.
However, I'm not much of a fan of flying pigs and other OTT images that are really PS created. Nor am I a fan of platicised skin - I prefer my models to look like real people.
Still, each to his/her own.
I never used a dark room so I had to get the shot as accurate as possible, which seems to be a dying aim.
If Hefty's right , I seem to fit in the hunter section, looking for the perfect kill (shot).
Still, I feel the need for EXTREME PS work seems to be taking over from the art of waiting for the light/pose/subject to be at the optimum point before taking the shot.
Digital does make this easier, multiple bracket shots, high capacity memory cards and fast cameras adding to the ease.
