A wooden tripod, plus a huge metal case...there are images of such a beast around, but I wouldn't like to say where. Perhaps one of the books on Pentax.
Did the tripod have it's own separate case or are you referring the the case which held the lens.

Thanks a lot,

Did you treat the metal parts which touch the lens with vinegar to kill any fungus spores which may be floating around.

A nice lens but I never use it as I have the Pentax equivalent.

Also most bellow units allow one to remove the K mount ring and first fit it the camera and then you reconnect the bellows to the mount ring using it's thumbs screw, this is particularly useful when the bellows unit fouls the pop-up flash housing.

I got a Samsung GX-10 (Pentax K10D is the same) with the Battery Grip and would like to keep the grip connected, but most of the Bellows seem not to be prepared for this, can someone confirm that one (the one I am looking at on feeBay seems actually flush at the camera end so it may fit with the grip connected)?

If the bellows do not clear the grip use an extension tube between the camera and the bellows.

I see the benefits of using say Lightroom to catalogue photos but my one concern about not renaming individual files descriptively and only using key words tied to a particular program means that in fifty years time the people or places can not be identified.

This is a concern to me as I've made a project of collecting old family photos going back about five generations to 1880 and three thousand scans.

Who is going to make sense of your pics in the future if they only have propriety key words.

This concern is prompted by my interest in genealogy and the fact that everything is now stored electronically worries me as there is no cardboard box in the attic.
